Parish NewsYou may notice or please go and have a look at Brooky Lane (Footpath J60 from Cropston to Thurcaston over the Sandham bridge)now that the styles have been removed and there are now three "kissing gates" and a self-closing gate onto Anstey Lane in Thurcaston. This makes walking between the two villages easier. The path is still a bit rough for some pushchairs. If you would like to see the path improved with gravel or similar please contact the clerk or the chairman, tandcparish@messages.co.uk or rdyounie@yahoo.co.uk Thurcaston & Cropston Film Presentations "Notes on a Scandal " will be shown on Friday 2nd May and lasts 92 minutes This story reveals emotional blackmail between two misguided comprehensive school teachers played with expertise by Cate Blanchett and Judi Dench. These two women get caught up in a drama of need and betrayal which are at the heart of this psychological thriller. Slander, scandal and a conveniently dead cat add to this vivid story of loneliness, loyalty, envy and love. The June (6th) screening is "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" which will be shown at Thurcaston Memorial Hall starting at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £4, Concessions- £3.50. Price includes refreshments. "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" will be shown on Friday 6th June. It lasts 114 minutes.The dynamic Clive Owen plays Sir Walter Raleigh in this terrifically entertaining film. Cate Blanchett breathes life into a role which has been tackled with varying degrees of success before her but none has been so convincing. Rural Cinema Films (Centre Screen) are continuing in the Memorial Hall in Thurcaston on Friday 30th November 2007. The screening will be "Amazing Grace" It runs for 117 minutes and there will be a social break in the middle for refreshments. Please come along and bring friends. Dates have been booked for the whole of 2008 for screenings and the programme may now run for the next 4 or 5 years. "Centre Screen" will be renamed "Big Country" and will spread out over 3 counties.
